Before I start I would like to clear some confusion up about Yoseph being 3 tribes or just two ?

In Revelation 7:8 Yoseph is used instead of Ephraim.

It should be understood that Yoseph as a tribe is synonymous with Ephriam in sum case but if Mannasah isn’t mentioned then Yospeh is representative of both. The other thing I would like to mention is that this is do in part because after yoseph went to see Yaqob  before he died, he adopted both Yosephs sons as apart of his own sons, and thus became tribes along with the others.

 

Barashith/ Genesis 48:1-5

 

And it came to pass after these things, that one told yoseph, Behold, thy father is sick: and he took with him his two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim.

2 And one told yacob, and said, Behold, thy son Yoseph cometh unto thee: and Yasharal strengthened himself, and sat upon the bed.

3 And yacob said unto yoseph, Al Shaddi appeared unto me at Luz in the land of Canaan, and blessed me,

4 And said unto me, Behold, I will make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, and I will make of thee a multitude of people; and will give this land to thy seed after thee for an everlasting possession.

5 And now thy two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, which were born unto thee in the land of Egypt before I came unto thee into Egypt, are mine; as Reuben and Simeon, they shall be mine.

 

So this is how they were adopted as tribes including the others.  Moving forward

 

 

Hosea 7:8

 

Ephraim, he hath mixed himself among the people; Ephraim is a cake not turned.

This would representative the island of Boriquen  which means “land of the brave lords”. previously named by the taino indians .when the conquistadors came they named it puerto rico which actually means rich port.
